How can we locate the artist when we have no idea of anything other than name and an artist and the series of whatever she did?
If you have NO more information, maybe she is a unknown artist and then it would be about impossible to find with no more information.

Looking it up on the internet every which way I could think of didn't bring a thing up.

Hopefully somebody can find the answer for you.

    Hello, jsa2x!

First off, please realize that we all give freely of our time to answer questions on this site. None of us who routinely answer questions are paid to do so. We all like to enjoy using the site and helping people.

Secondly, we would appreciate if if you would not use the rating system to respond or answer questions here, unless a post is totally incorrect or without valid reasoning as to why the post was written. As far as I am concerned the questions asked by NOhelp4u were perfectly valid ones to ask, and I also agree with the kind answer that NOhelp4u gave in post #4 above.

If you want people to go looking for the answers, then it's always helpful if we have as much information as possible to narrow down the searches.

For instance, we don't know if what you saw is a print, photograph, drawing, painting, sculpture or some other medium that one might use in any number of ways to convey things artistically.

Even doing a vanity web search in Google produces 196 results as of the time of my search for "Judith A. Barnett" Artist.

"Judith A. Barnett" Artist - Google Search

The following other kind of vanity web search on Google produces zero results.

"Judith A. Barnett" Artist "Red Tailed Hawk" - Google Search

A vanity search narrows down the possibilities so that searches will include the terms in the quotes in the order that they are listed.

I hope that you now see that it is important that we know what it is and where it was that you saw it.

    Thank you!

I apologize for the late response, however I only recently came across this most interesting site.
With regard to your question, the painting was done about 40 years ago as a limited print edition. The artist has returned to her maiden name of Judith Falconer.

She spent several early years in her career focusing on birds of prey while residing in the Monterey Ca. area and in fact was often called upon to care for injured birds while they regained their strength . She now includes Native American and Portrait Art.

I appreciate the helpful information provided on this site. Tonight I found a signed and numbered limited edition print (#657 of 1500)of the Red Tail Hawk by Judith A. Barnett. A certificate of authenticity was taped to the back of the framed print, and states that is was published by Somerset House of Houston, Texas. I noted and bought the print, because I have a dear friend who claims that the red tail hawk is his spiritual totem. Lots of antecdotal stories from his life seem to support his claim. ANYWAY- this find was at a thrift store, and not very expensive at all. I took the print out of the frame, cleaned the glass and frame, and dusted the print, and put it back together. Does anyone have any idea of the FMV of such a print?
