    Can someone who is self-employed and on Supplementary Security Income buy a home ?

    Sure. A mortgage depends on income - there are also special programs out there for first time home buyers.

    Check with different lenders.

    If someone who is self employed and someone in the family is receiving supplemental security income will this family be able to buy a home ?

    Anyone can buy a home if the can show enough income to pay back the mortgage.

    Yes, if they can find a mortgage company that accepts this amount of income and if both of the people with income are going to sign the mortgage.

    And how much down payment will they have, will their be able to make the payments, each case will be reviewed in detail
