Craftsman 42" riding mower will not engage to go forward or in reverse
This is the sillies thing. I had a flat back tire and took off the tire and had it fixed. I put the tire back on and then started the riding mower and it would not go into forward or reverse. I started looking through my owners manual for possible solutions and I tried to purge the transmission and it rolled about 1 foot forward and stopped and that was a far as it would go. I also noticed I did not have any brakes when I did that. I have looked at the Freewheel Control and it appears to be in the engaged position but my wheels still roll freely so I am guessing that the Freewheel control is still in the Disengaged position but I don';t know what to do to get it back into the "engaged" position other that move the lever. It doesn't put it back into engaged position. Any ideas on what I can do to get the it back into the "engaged" position?

I found the answer in another question. I forgot to puit the square key back in after I changed the tire. Thanks to you guys for putting up this site.
