    Kenmore ultra wash dishwasher will not unlock
    The locking mechanism will only stay on lock and will not unlock. We tried turning off power to reset and it still stays locked. Any ideas?

    The door locking mechanism is controlled by a thermal switch that prevents opening the door during the washing machine being in the process.

    You can try by disconnecting the power cord and wait a couple of minutes. Than try to open the door.

    If that fails, and with the power cord disconnected, completely disconnect the machine from water and drain hoses (bucket!) and access the machine from the back or the bottom to remove the thermal switch (which you can either replace or remove completely - unless you have small children around - in view of safety).
