    Professional color mess!
I have been using a do it yourself hair color for several years. Yesterday I bought a professional hair color from a beauty supply store. But instead of the medium auburn color that I was expecting.. I got BLACK!! Is there anyway of fixing this? Can I put on the old haircolor that I was using and get back my auburn? Help me please. I have 1 day to do something to fix this!. barbfowler

Honestly, your best bet is to go to a professional hair stylist and have them fix it... otherwise, you might turn up with orange or green hair

I am A stylist... no, you can't put a lighter color on it, color doesn't lift color... it won't do a thing. You can go back to sally's and get some powder bleach and 20 volume developer and strip it, but that is the only quick fix there is...

I recently had my hair colored at a salon, but the stylist made it a little too dark. I like the general color, but would like it to be a shade or two lighter. Would using Prell shampoo or other treatments like that work to help fade salon-quality color? If not, what else would you recommend?
