    Feeling lightheaded
I am mid 20s and in shape (not just because I work out but I'm a skinny guy whose got good metabolism).

I've always worked out occasionally but now I try to go to gym 5 days a week or so working out on different muscle each day. However I don't do cardio (I should start though). Here's my problem though:

Before I go to gym I sometimes take a protein bar or eat lots of almonds. Sometimes during workout I get a lightheaded feel and even feel like throwing up. This of course happens after lifting heavy weight (not heavy as in unbearable though). I take a small sip of water after each exercise as I learned the hard way (I used to drink more water during workout and once got the same lightheaded feeling and threw up. I later found out I shouldn't have drank that much water).

Now my question is what is causing the feeling? Is it exhaustion? Whatever it is, how can I 'cure' the problem?

Another question is after work out my eye sight seems to feel weaker especially later in the day or even at night. Any of you have similar problems?

You could be lacking some vitamins and minerals, not drinking enough water, not eating enough, working out too much,

My diet isn't the best out there so you could be right. Would you know how much water should be drank during exercise. My workout does not exceed 1 hour and that includes the rests. I'm assuming it's nothing more than exhaustion but resting doesn't seem to help because whenever I exercise another rep I get the same feeling if not worst.

Anytime anyone over-exerts their normal physical abilities, blood rushes to the areas that are being over-exerted and you may feel a bit lightheaded. I agree that better diet and nutrition will help, and some light cardio work and continuous exercise will help you achieve a better physical state.

Eat better, take some sort of a multivitamin (I take a one-a-day... it helps with my energy boost after a long day), and give yourself plenty of rest while working out and on your off days.

As far as water is concerned, I usually stay hydrated throughout the day (not just during workouts) so I don't drink much water while working out.
