    Dsl service connection problems
My internet fast access is with AT&t. I'v been having problems with my connection.
The tech said the wiring in my zip has to be replaced. Rain and lighting make rain
Moisture in the ground that causes capacitance on the copper phone lines.

When I got DSL the tech was only a few minutes at my phone box.
I wonder what he did? He did not add any equipment. Maybe he switch wires
    Is that what he did?

No. He cleaned the terminals off any accumulated crud. This happens at my phone terminal box all the time. My son cleans off the terminals. My phone box is on the north side of my house and does not get any direct sunlight to properly dry it out so he has to regularly clean off the terminals. If you do this wrong, you can screw up your phone service. Best to keep calling out the phone people to clean off the terminals.

    Twinkie:

Also make sure the cables entering the NID have "drip legs" so water doesn't follow the cable into the box. There should be a little loop in the cable, so water "drips" from the bottom of the loop and doesn't enter the box.
