GE Side by Side Refrigerator Not Dispensing Water or Ice
Our builder installed a GE Side by Side Refrigerator - model #GSS25SGRFSS with water and ice dispenser slightly over 3 years ago. Besides being very loud and the occasional flash freeze of vegetables in the fridge side we haven't really had any problems up until a week ago. One day the water dispenser took a long time to dispense water. The next day it wouldn't dispense anything - no ice, no water. We emptied the ice bin last night to confirm that the water line wasn't frozen (although it sounds like there might be a separate line for the ice and another for the water?) and indeed the ice bin is half full this morning. So the good news is that ice is being made. We just can't get it out and I hate getting water from the kitchen tap! After looking at the GE website it looks like a lot of people have complained about similar issues but not the same issue. I know that if I get a repair man out he will most likely say that it is the motherboard - ca ching, ca ching! The dispenser panel is working - it shows a green light whether I select ice or water but it just doesn't dispense anything. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this? I'm not particularly "handy" and my husband is even worse but I'm willing to give it a shot to save some money. Thanks!

Well I just got finished with a very similar problem. I have the side by side also with display unit. Now non of the ice or the water worked but the ice door did open. Now it started to flash zero's on the control panel but if you look take off the bottom grill there is a connection point down there that has a bad design that allows water to easily get into it. If you shut off the water and disconnect and clean it out. That might solve the issue. Any other question I will help you out with it.

Actually GE came out and it was a computer board issue. They replaced the board for free as there were so many complaints associated with my model. Everything works perfectly once again.
