As far as I know, it has nothing to do with how easy or difficult it is to get pregnant. The danger is that when a baby is born, a small amount of the baby's blood mixes with mom's. If the mother does not have the Rh factor (Rh-) and her baby does (Rh+), her body recognizes the baby's blood as alien, and creates antibodies against it. On her next pregnancy, the body is ready to protect itself against the alien invader, and the antibodies go to work destroying the fetus' blood cells.
There are apparently treatments now that makes this much less likely to happen than it used to. And it's only a factor if an Rh- woman has an Rh+ baby (which means her husband would have to be positive). An Rh+ woman doesn't have any issues.
