92 honda civic not starting sometimes
92 honda civic 4 cylinders. 1.5 liters doesn't start sometimes when I leave the car for 5 minutes. Whenever the key is turn to pre start position there is not buzzing sound from the fuel pump. But if I left the car alone for 10 minutes or so, then car starts normally.
Also on the times when the car doesn't start, the mil light stays on longer than normal.

This has been happening for about 2 months.
I am going to get the fuel pressure checked with a mechanic. But I do not believe is the pump. Since it works perfect most of the time.

(a funny occasion when this happened, was in the gas station after filling up the tank, I got in the car and there was no buzzing sound, and of course the car didn't start, just crank and crank. People who was around there was commenting that maybe I was out of gas:)?? What peope..? :D

    This only happens sometimes.

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly apreciated

    Thank you

I don't really know what the problem could be. Have you had your wiring checked? That is what happened with mine when it did that. There was a short in the wiring that caused it not to start sometimes.

Your story made me laugh though. It reminds me of the Jeff Foxworthy joke, when a guy pulls up to a service station with a flat tire... and the attendant says... you got a flat tire? The guy said... NOPE... I was just driving around, and the other three just swelled up on me! :D

Its best to get the motor.batter.starter and get some of the wires checked out that could work really good

Perform the K-Test on the ECM, which is likely failing:

The K-Test: Remove the MAP Sensor connector and turn the ignition switch to ON (Position II). Using a multimeter, check for 5 volts going between the MAP Sensor connector's reference wire (+) and ground. As you look at the connector, this is the socket on the right. Really press the black test lead into a cleaned main ECM ground on the thermostat housing. If the voltage is low, it's probably indicating ECM failure. Most failed ECMs will record a fraction of a volt. To me, the K-Test is simple, elegant, and accurate.

Here's how to replace the ECM yourself:

When you buy a replacement ECM, it must be an exact part no. match.
