Eviction due to domestic violence
I recently left my abusive boyfriend and moved into a condo. I am renting on a month to month tenancy. My ex found out where I am living and has been making nightly "visits". He bangs on the door, yells and makes quite a scene. The so-called security guards make no effort to help me. I have called the police on several occasions but he is gone by the time thy arrive. The neighbors have complained to the homeowners assoc. because of all the noise in the middle of the night. They are threatening to fine, or evict me. Is it legal for them to take such action? How can I be held responsible for his actions?

You need to go obtain an order of protection to keep him away from you and your home.
Then, there will be something on file to show that you have done due diligence on your part to stop the problem.
If they take action against you, you can show that you have tried to put an end to this idiot's behavior, and any Judge would take that into consideration.
It will also give the police a duty to actually arrest him if he violated the order.

A homeowners association can't really do anything but complain, if you are renting the actual landlord may do something if you are causing a problem, butif you have a record of calling the police I am not sure even they can.

You MUST get a restraining order agents him, that way the next time he comes you can have him arrested. You were so brave to leave in the first place and it is such a shame that you are still having to deal with his BS. Get your restraining order and next time he comes quietly call the police and talk to him through the door (don’t let him in or open the door!) till they get their, keep him at the door and don’t let him know you have called… they will come and arrest him. I would also suggest getting some pepper spray just in case; you need to be able to take him down if you need to. My sister is a victim of domestic violence and we are currently trying to get her and her four kids away from her husband. I just want to say I know it is hard but don’t let him discourage you or ruin your life any further, get a restraining order ASAP.

I have filed for a restraining order but they have been unable to serve him. They can't seem to catch up with him. Another note... They are so-called security guards here. They have been unable or unwilling to help me. I just find it outrageus that I am facing possible eviction because they can't do their job
