    Wish ex happy birthday?
Should I wish my ex happy birthday?
I know you have a lot of messages like this but I think I maybe should we went out for over 3years but broke up (for 5months or so) I don't wish to get back together and Im certain he feels the same. It's just that we share a few mutual friends and I still talk to his best friend casually and just thought it might be a nice gesture to show that we can stll be civil to each other. However I don't want to sent it and for him to read too much into it like I want him back(he dumped me). A simple email Happy bithday should be OK right? I don't want to call or text as I'm unsure if he has met someone else and I don't want to get in the way of that.

    What do you guys think?

    Hi Moon,

I think that would be fine. As long as you both have moved on (mentally), I think that is a really nice idea. If you guys can be friends with one another, that is great!

I'm going against Starlite... There has been a reason you guys haven't talked yet, so keep it that way. Keep doing your own thing, there is no reason to wish him a happy birthday. If you guys are friendly, that's different. My ex just recently asked if I was going to keep my promise of sending her a text at 12:00 on the dot for her birthday because that's what I said I always would. And since me and her are friends now, I have no issues in doing so.

That is a good point Romefalls.

Moon, have you spoken to him on friendly terms since your breakup? If not, then Romefalls is correct, you should just let it go. But, if you have, and you guys are friends, then I think it would be okay.

As long as you are really in your heart over him (over him meaning you have no desire to get back together with him), I think sending a Happy Birthday is nice.

I agree with Starlite. A simple, "Happy Birthday" text... that's it... You gave your wishes and did what you wanted to do.

I'm a bit confused now so I might just leave it... if we end up taliking more often then there's always next years birthday but as it stands I think I'll just leave it were more civil for our mutual friends not really mates/friends ourselves now thinking about it.

    Thanks guys

We get this question all the time, and if you think about it, and be honest, are you doing it to be nice, or checking his temperature so to speak? I think its best left alone, and there can be no misunderstanding. Most people who ask about this, are still fresh from a break up, otherwise they wouldn't bother in the first place.
