02 VW new beetle start issues
 OK I have a ve bug 2.0 I haven't driven it since march and I thought the battery was dead but I replaced it and I am still having issues... I was wondering if maybe one of the fuel injectors is clogged or if it might be the altinator(ap) or maybe even a fuse? Can a blown fuse make the car not start? PLEASE HELP I'm an idiot when it comes to cars hah

    Thanks

    Hey,
I'm no car geek, just a high schooler in motorshop, but you might have killed the starter or blown a fuse. Check the fuse for the starter if it isn't blown it may be the starter

. Test all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. Here's how:

. Check for any diagnostic trouble codes. You'll need to attach a code reader to the data link connector under the dash and turn the ignition switch to ON.

Is the vehicle completely dead or will it turn over when you turn the key? The answer to that question can point you two completely opposite directions. We need more details, please! :)

If you turn the key to the on position, you should be able to hear the fuel pump turn on in the back of the vehicle. It will sound like a humming noise. If you don't hear that, check your fuses to make sure that none are blown.
