Can't see hard drive on Bios or Windows
I have recently purchased a Seagate Barracuda 500gb hard drive. I have it in an external enclosure with data only on it (no OS).

My 10 month old managed to knock it off the desk, the power cable had disconnected from the inside, I reconnected it and turned it back on. It shows that the power is on and I can hear the hard drive spinning inside but it makes a beep sound every 30 seconds or so, and now it is not readable in the bios or windows.

I have tried another External Enclosure and still the same beep sound. All I have to do is plug the power in and it makes the beep sound even if the PC is turned off or the usb cable is not connected to the PC.

I have just filled this drive with important info so replacement is not the option.

I have tried Data recovery software but had no joy due to the drive not being able to be read by the PC.

    Please help me

    Many thanks in advance

The bios has beep codes that diagnose problems, but as the beep is coming from the drive itself I would say, see if it can be reapaired.

It may be just the enclosure is damaged, The other thing you may consider is to attach the drive internally as a slave drive and see if it can be detected by the bios.
