How can I change my son's name after paternity through the court?
My son was born in the state of VA. My name was not on his birth certificate. His mom seeks to maintain his current name to allow her current boyfriend act in my place when needed. I do not want this to happen because I need to have my son back. How can I change my son's name?

You need to go to court and establish paternity (if you haven't already) and petition for change in his legal name, I would get an attorney.

    Dear Bigona

There seems little you can do, as your name is not on his birth certificate.
It is now up to his mom, unless you want to start expensive court procedures involving DNA tests for paternity.
