Being Evicted -- by my roommates!
    I live in California.

My roommates and I have been having difficulties. I don't cook or use the kitchen, and so don't clean it. The don't lock the doors. We annoy one another. And it isn't working.

At the beginning of the month, one of my roommates switched rooms, so that she is not beside me. I snore. She asked me earlier this week to rearrange my room, cause my snoring and my over head fan were bothering her. She wanted me to move my dresser against her wall so it could act as a sound buffer. I said I was busy right then, but I would try and do it.

The next night at 2:30 in the morning, she bangs on the bedroom door and tells me that her and my other roommate want me to leave. And they are giving me my 30 days notice.

The next morning she cc's me and the third housemate and tells me via email they are giving me my notice.

Neither of them are my landlord. I pay him the rent directly, he does not live with us. He has not served me my notice. But they are my roommates. One of them said that under California law for shared premises, they don't even have to give me the 30 days warning -- but they were being generous.

What are my rights here? I asked them if I could stay until the 16th of July, since I'm going to be in and out of the county and having only 30 days would make it very difficult for me to get myself gone.

    I'm confused. And misinformed.

I believe the landlord must serve you the notice, I don't think another tenant can evict you.

Perhaps make it uncomfortable, but not evict.

Here is a link that outlines CA Eviction notices, hope it helps.
