    Eligibility to collect unemployment
I have worked at my place of employment for 9 months. I am 9 months pregnant and due within the next two weeks. According to my work's policy, you have to be employed for a year or more to get the 6 weeks paid time off. So I therefore have to take 6 weeks off, but it is all unpaid. I was wondering if I would be eligible to collect unemployment just for the six weeks I am off work.

You would not be eligible to collect unemployment as you were not laid off your job, you were just incapacited for a period and then staying home voluntarily. Sorry. Also, what kind of company would give you 6 weeks paid vacation after working for one year? Never heard of a thing here in the US. Where can I apply for such a generous vacation package?

No you may not, to collect unemployment you have to be laid off or fired and you have to be able and available to work, so if you were able to work, you would be working

And I will agree, 6 weeks vacation after a year, that is almost unheard of. Some get one week, some get two, but that is about top.
Also be glad you will get unpaid leave and your job back when you return

No, you have to sign that you are willing and able to accept employment when you file for benefits and you are neither (unfortunately).
