    Restaing a Dresser
My parents bought an "unfinished" dresser for my son. They stained it blue and used wood glue to add stars moons and suns all over it. My son is older now, and he would like to keep the dresser but make it match the rest of the bedroom. I guess my question is, how do I get the wood glue off and restain it to a cherry red color?

Fr's post made me think about a heat gun my husband used to remove layer after layer of paint from a stair case rail. Caution must be used with a heat gun. I'm not sure if it would work the same as with glue and paper, but it is the worth time investigating.

If you want to re-stain it you'll have to sand it down to bare wood after removing the glued on pieces then re-stain. You could paint it if you want to skip all that sanding.
