    Garnishment letter
I received a garnishment letter from a law firm for back rent. Last payment was in December of 2001. Is there a statue of limitations on this? I cannot afford to pay this. What can I do now?

Well given the last payment date of 200l, no statute lasts more then six years, so I guess you have run out. You had better answer it. Be prepared for them to have added interest to the amount you thought you owed. Clear your bank account of any automatic deposits and have the payments sent to you by mail so those amounts don't land in your bank. They will be taken.
