Present her with facts. And giving him tons of fruit and veggies won't help. He needs a well balanced diet. He's a growing boy.

His eating habits at home must change. This is a very serious condition being he's so young. It will only get worse, much worse and he will have a lot of health problems when he gets older. If he doesn't have diabetes now, he probably will in a few years. The mom must be aware that the diet she gives her son at home is literally ruining the child's health and will continue to do so until it is changed. No junk food, no soda, diet or otherwise, no fast food either, no pizza, etc. The child is way too young to be overweight. May I suggest that you take the child to a doctor and have the doctor evaluate the child for any present health problems. Possibly the child has health problems now that will get worse if his diet is not changed and adhered to. He needs a balanced diet to grow up properly.
