    Well water problems
Help! I'm not quite sure my analysis was correct. I went back and disconnected the line coming from the well and turned the pump on to get a sample of water straight from the well. It was black as oil and stunk like rotten eggs. So that told me my problem is coming from the well . The well pipe is a iron 6" pipe that I was told runs approximately 250 feet deep with the actual pump sitting somewhere around 120'-150'ft. I was also informed that this line when drilled had to go through some limestone to get to the aquifier.
Questions : 1. is the black I get in the water a sulpher bacteria or an iron bacteria. An initial test for iron shows none or low levels.
I got cut off ! 2. I had consulted briefly with a guy that istahls wells and he first suggested that we might have to have the iron casing acid washed, but after talking with him later he said that wouldn't help . He suggested filtration (whole house filter(5microbial) clogs up in 3-7 days ) . Would he be talking about a resign bed type filter for iron sulpher and maganese ?

We went back and chlorinated the well and the entire system for three days. Flushed and had great water for 6 more days with very little pressure drop due to the filter clogging up.
Then the pressure dropped and I changed the filter. The water cleared up but then the next day, the homeowner flushed the toilet and started a load of laundry (2 load of clothes to be washed) . When his laundry was done washing he noticed his clothes were stained of black... he checked all faucets and the water was as black and thick as oil and smell like
    Sewer or rotten eggs.
I went over and flushed the filter out, flushed the lines and hot water tank out again . Then I decided to super flush... I opened all lines in and out of the house, then went and turned the pump of until all pressure was gone and some of the lines including the expansion tank were drained . Then I turned pump back on and black sludge came out each time I repeated this routine. The third time I did that I did not get a surge of black.
And after about an half an hour of flushing the system cleaned up and has held to now (18hrs)

    3. would readjusting the height of where the pump is solve this problem..
Just can't seem to get rid of it for goood..

Any and all thoughts, suggestions, clues, tips would greatly be appreciated !
