    Unable to pay probation fees
My friend is on probation in nj for disorderly conduct, aka a small bag of marijuana. My friends probation is over in less then a month, but he has paid only one hundred dollars of the seven hundred owed. What should my friend expect if he does not pay the entire balance by the end of his probation period?

    Thank you.

He can expect to be in violation of his probation - this was a condition of being kept out of jail. He could finish his sentence in jail or he could be given an extension of time - no way to know what will happen.

Has he discussed this problem with his probation officer yet? He should have discussed this with his probation officer months ago then the probation officer could have brought this to the judge's attention then and possibly had his probation extended giving him time to pay off the fine. Now he's going to face the judge and the judge will not be happy with him not paying off the fine. He could be sentenced to jail time or given more probation time to pay the fine.
