    Tax Refund Garnishments
I have credit card debt from eight years ago that I'm working to settle, even considering bankruptcy. I am entitled to refunds from on my state and federal return, but am afraid they'll be garnished. Who can garnish tax refunds?

I believe only the IRS or a govt agency can garnish a tax refund. However, once its deposited in your account the bank account can be attached.

On a side note, can you please explain to me why you chose to post this in the Forum Help area?
