F1 to Green Card (DV lottery winner)
    Hi,

I am a student with F-1 visa. I won the green card lottery :)). I am really confused about the process. Should I follow the standard procedure which is for people outside USA? Or any other ways?

    Thank you

Contact your local Embassy with your case number by e-mail, you will receive instructions and list of documents needed to provide to USCIS.

You can go for one of the two possible choices: Consular Processing (CP) if you are out of US or Adjustment of Status (AOS) if you are in USA. Since you are in the USA you can choose one of both.

Consular Processing is more secure and faster procedure, it assures that your # will become current sooner but you have to go for interview in your home country.

AOS takes much longer time, your # might not become current ( depends on how busy are they at your USCIS center) and if you are not selected for an interview, because of lack of time, you lose your GC and the right to apply for one.

I would recommend first option... email to US consulate in your home country and start from there.
