    Dog won't walk on leash
    My daughter and I have rescued a boston terrier from a bad situation she's 6 months old and before we got her she had been on a rope tied to a patio table from we understand the whole time they had her. Now we have her and my daughter lives in an apartment where they have to wear a leash we can't get her to walk on a leash she will just sit there my daughter says she's tried carrying the treat in her left hand but I don't think she's ever had treats before she doesn't like any of them. What else can we do to get her to walk on a leash? My daughter has also let her walk around the house with the leash on her but when she does this she won't move. HELP? Renee

    Get a gentle leader. She would have no choice to walk and it is very gentle and you use no force

    The Easy Walk Gentle Harness is amazing!! Our cocker has been impossible on a leash. We tried everything and it never helped his constant pulling. The harness doesn't go on the nose, but fits like a traditional harness with a D-ring in the middle of the dog's chest. It was created for the most difficult of walkers. We absolutely could not believe that it worked immediately!!

    While head collars such as the Gentle Leader are a great solution to pulling, I don't think they are a good idea in this case. You might try starting with very short pieces of rope to drag around the house.

    I would first try what works very well with young puppies new to the leash. If coaxing won't work, drop back behind the puppy and run by it in baby steps calling ''Go, go, go!'' in a happy, excited voice.

    If that doesn't work, find a large, enclosed area. Leave the dog with its leash on and walk away. Perhaps have a companion and play catch with a ball. Again, happy, excited chatter.

    Making the dog want to move is much better than trying different collars.

    Dogs who refuse to walk on leash and totally stubborn. Take the leash and clip a beaner to the back of your pants and start runnin'! Sounds kind of cruel, but she'll start to keep up.
    Change directions, run in and around trees, she will start to watch you, this is also a very good trust/leadership exercise.

    My mom and me rescued a dog like that he had never had a leash or a callor just go slow and let your dog take its time it needs to learn its OK and trust that your not going to hert her are dog yoused to lay down so he didn't have to move I would just reasher him that its going to be OK remember don't move to fast or talk to loud any thing like that can scare her also try some where quit at first until she can start to get used to it

    If a dogs been abused you don't want to be ruff or force it to do something abused dog have been scard and it takes awile forcing it could posably make it afraid since they get scared easily
