    Removal of Purple PVC Cleaner
    Hello,

I spilled purple pvc cleaner on our new bathtub. Is there anyway to remove it without harming the tub? It is a fiberglass? Guessing:confused:whirlpool bathtub.

Any ideas will be welcome! The wife is NOT happy.:(

    Thanks

Lacquer thinner should cut right through this primer. The fiberglass gel coat will not be harmed by this thinner.

You know what Bob... if you are that sure.. then I am deleting my answer... no need for guessing here!

I did not know about laquer thinner not harming gel coat... NICE! I am sure I will use this in the future.

They wouldn't let me give you a greenie... :(... next time!

    Thanks... MARK

When I painted a Vet long time ago I found that not much can hurt a gel coat that's cured. If you get primer on your hands don't use lacquer thinner, it just pushes the color deeper into your pores.

    Great info. Thanks!

And pushing deeper into my pores... ;) Does washing your hands in gasoline and acetone for 15 years count for similar!

Never mind blowing asbestos onto commercial boiler fire walls and removing our masks to have our cigarette breaks!

    I swear...

I have since QUIT smoking... but not the drinking... :)

You have good night... Thanks again... Mark

I tried to give you a greenie too but no dice. Anyway that's a great piece of info something I did not know and would not have guessed either. Thanks and have a good evening. AC
