    Transferring Probation

I am on probation for 3 years for shoplifting, driving on a suspended tag and no proof of insurance. I have been told by many people that are on probation that all you have to do to transfer your probation is to ask them what criteria do I have to meet to possibly transfer my probation to another city in GA, so I did. The response that I got was not the one that I wanted. My PO said that they do not transfer cases for nothing, and the reason that I want to transfer it is so I can go to college in Gainesville. So I guess my question is; Is there anyway that I can transfer my probation or not?

Did you ask them in writing or just verbally? Go to the sticky at the top of this category that excon posted regarding transferring of probation and follow that advice.

Yes, transfer within the state is and should be much easier than transfer out of state, Your PO is messing with you, if you had an attorney they can help you, if not ask for a written request for transfer since you need to go to college
