9 month old lab mix not eating as usual
We have a 9 month old lab mix puppy. He used to eat quite a bit. Everything he was given. Now, he has slowed down quite a bit. Could this be he is not going through a growth spurt and doesn't need as much to eat? My husband gave him a steak bone--against my advice!! --could this have something to do with his not wanting to eat as much. He sometimes will eat, sometimes he just walks away from his bowl uninterested. But, eventually he will go back after a while and eat the majority. Anybody have any answers for me??

What does your vet say? It could be as simple as being bored with his food to as bad as he is sick.

He hasn't been to the vet yet. He is acting fine. Wild, as usual. I didn't want to go and them to tell me he is fine. We called them and they said it sounded to them like he was getting enough food and was getting close to being the size he is going to be and stop growing, so he didn't need as much food.

Dogs will eat until they vomit and then go back and eat more. That is nature for them. Not eating is generally a symptom of something. Watch him closely for a few more days. Be sure NOT to feed him table scraps. Give him ONLY his food until he is normal again.
