    What is the right time.
In November of 2006, I fell in love with this beautiful condo in Florida. Before signing the lease for 1 year, I ask the owner if the condo was rent to own and was told no.

In October of 2007, one month before my lease suppose to expire a gentleman did a walk through in the condo, which I was told it was for refinancing. I did ask if they were selling and was told no so I requested to renew my lease for another year. Three days later I receive a call from the owner saying that they in fact are going to sell and can only renew the least for seven months. A couple of weeks ago I was told by the owner that I have to write a letter stating that I decided to terminate the least.

I did write a letter stating... "Due to the owners decision to sell the condo, Under the advisement of the rental agent, I am writing this letter to terminating my lease because I do not want to buy the condo for $155,000.00".

My lease will be up by may 31,08. The owner told me I have to be out by 10 AM on the
31st because he is turning it over to a new rental agent.

Did I do the right thing by righting the letter like that? What is the right time for me to leave on the last day of the least? And if he does not sell the condo and rent it in June, do I have the right to a injunction against him because he wrongfully terminated my lease by lying to me, even though I paid my bills on time and sometimes months in advance?

You are entitled to stay for the full extent of your tenancy - if you pay rent for May, you have to be out on May 31st, not at any specific time. I don't know what you mean by the least will be up "by" May 31st. Do you mean ON May 31st?

I don't know what you mean by doing the right thing by writing the letter - he didn't terminate your lease. You wrote a letter and said you are terminating your lease and that's what will stand up in Court if it comes to that. The Court will not care why you are terminating. You had the option of standing your ground and forcing the landlord to buy you out.

The landlord for whatever reason doesn't want you to stay and doesn't want you to buy the condo, you notified him you are terminating the lease - it's his condo so he gets to make that decision.

Not saying this is fair but once you signed the letter you were out of options.

I'm also confused by what you want. Your lease was up for renewal and the owner informed you that he could only enter a lease for 7 months. You agreed to this. That lease expires at the end of this month. So you have until the lease expires to vacate.

The only thing curious about this is the landlord's request that you submit a letter terminating the lease. That was unnecessary, but it wasn't wrong. Since the lease expires on May 31st, you have no rights or recourse to the property after that. If he doesn't sell or rent for June or even if he does, that is no concern of yours.

Unless you can prove that the landlord did not want to sell or rent to you any longer because you were being discriminated against, I don't see any recourse against the landlord.

Move on or before thee 3ast and be done with it.

This is my first time renting so I have no clue. I thought I was doing the right thing by writing the letter because he said if I am not buying the condo then I have to write a letter stating that I am terminating my lease but now I know for next time.
Thanks guys. I really appreciate the advise.
