    Hello easter:

    Your question is pretty vague, but I'll do the best I can. Depending on lot's of things, including the state where you live, after you're married, the assets your household earns will be owned equally by each of you. The assets each of you owned prior to the marriage remains your separate property.

    If you contribute to the mortgage, then you should own half of any appreciation or equity that develops AFTER your marriage.
