    Child Choosing Residence
Hello I am sixteen years old and I live in Wyoming. I live with my mom and recently told her I wish to live with my dad. She freaked grounded me took away my phone and car. I was just simply wondering what age I can just choose which parent I would like to live with. Because if I just go live with him she will call the cops.

    You can choose at 18.
Seems like you have it pretty good at moms, cell phone and a car

If your father is in agreement he could petition the Court for a change in custody and your wishes would be heard. My concern is that apparently your desire to change custody has really hurt your mother - I'm sure that is not your intention.

Is there a possibility that you, your Mom and your Dad could go to some sort of counselling and work this out? Maybe she would understand you want more time with your Dad and she would consent.

If you want to change because your Dad's "rules" are less stringent than your Mom the Court will see through that.

As said you can choose at 18. Have you talked to your dad? If he agrees with you he can petition the court for an adjustment in custody. You are old enough that the judge will hear your testimony but will still rule in which ever direction he/she seem best.
