    Nolan Ryan card identification
Pacific card company issued a commemorative Nolan Ryan card set nicknamed "Texas Express" in several series from 1991-1993.

The 1991 series I was 110 cards (card numbers 1-110)
The 1992 series II was 110 cards (card numbers 111-220)
The 1993 series III was 30 cards (card numbers 221-250)

The series III cards were different from the first two series in that they had a "27th Year" logo on the front and back of the card. I have the first two series complete sets and multiple left-over single cards.

One of the single cards has me stumped though--it has the "27th Year" logo on it like the series III cards, but my card is #116 (which is series II). None of my other series II cards has this logo, and in fact all of my other card #116s do not have this logo.

My question is--did series I and II have a parallel version that has the "27th Year" logo on it as well as the base version which does not have the logo on it?

I have searched the internet (including eBay current and completed auctions, Beckett marketplace, and other card sites) and can not find any other cards from series I or II of this Pacific set that has the "27th Year" logo on it. I hope someone here can provide some help.

The only possibility I can think of is the card companies used to create two different versions of their card sets. One for normal Retail Outlets, and a different set specifically for Hobby Outlets such as sports card and sports collectible stores exclusively.

Could there be a retail and a hobby set of this out there?

True, the hobby vs retail versions are still being issued by certain card companies in today's card market--but I have never heard of Pacific doing that in the early 1990's for these commemorative sets. Thanks for the reply though. I will continue to search the web, but maybe someone on this site can find the specific answer before I do. Thanks for any insight from anyone.
