How to file for taxes when my spouse and I live in different states?
    Hi
I am starting a job in Michigan while my husband will continue to reside in California, my questions are as follows:
    1. Can we file jointly although there are different income taxes in both states?
    2. How can we make the choice regarding the location where we file our taxes at?
    3. Is it wiser to file separately in this case?

    Thanks you :)

Yes you can file jointly or separately.
You must file return for both the states.
Most of the time it is better to file jointly.
