Hello my name is Alaric I am actually getting ready to start paramedic school and I wanted to get a jump ahead on the Drug dosages etc. I have been told that there is no person better than a nurse to ask these questions to. What I would like to know is how much medication would I draw up in what Syringe. For example. If I wanted to give 2mg of Narcan to a pt via IV which syringe would I use and how much would I draw up. Also how would I draw up these other drugs and using which size syringe. Lidocaine 1-1.5mg/kg for a pt 100kg, Atropine at 1mg, and epinepherine at 1mg. I just pretty much want to know what size syringe would I use for each and what would number would I draw each drug up to. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Wow, your question is really broad!! Unfortunately, these are questions that you will have to learn the answers to in class.

You see, meds are used for many reasons on many persons. Sometimes they have to be diluted with NS (Normal Saline), other times they can be given alone. It also depends on the size of the person, whether adult or pediatric. Yet some of these meds can be given via ET tube.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm there is no way to tell you exactly what syringe you can use for each of these drugs + others. You also have to take into account the doctor's orders, etc.
