    Dryer won't spin
I have an old Kenmore Electric Dryer Model # 86873100. It won't spin anymore it will still turn on and heat up but it won't spin. Can anyone tell me what it could be?

There is a long belt that wraps around the drum that is driven by a motor. The belt could be broken or the motor may have gone bad. (Let's hope it is the belt!) If you can hear something running (besides the timer ticking) when you turn the dryer on, then your motor is probably okay.

Generally, you can see if the belt is broken by opening the top up and there should be a 1 inch or so wide belt wrapped around the drum. Here is a good website for dryer info. For your purpose, steps 1,2,4,5 should be all you need.
