Dachund Puppy diet
Well I'm not sure if any of you could be of help cause my situation is unique.
You see I Have recently got a Dachund puppy and can't buy the proper dog food, or take him to get his shots, because of the lack of money.. . So I just ration the dog kibble by mixing it in with some rice. Is this a good idea, and if not what is the amount of food I shout give him?
I am getting worried because he is looking a bit to skinny and want to fix the problem quickly.. . :(
Again any help is appreciated, Thanks

Good puppy food that is in-expensive is purina beneful puppy chow otherwise if you have chicken in the house steam it with white rice. I would suggest any puppy chow as it has all the right fat content a puppy needs.

With the chicken, be sure not to give the dog any cooked chicken bones. Always de-bone the chicken pieces!
Rice can be OK for a dog, but isn't ideal as a main part of his diet. It's possible that he just needs to eat more. Any growing dog can eat a huge amount.

I am really sorry to hear about your situation. Not sure where you are located but a local rescue might be able to help you find cheap vaccinations. Unfortunately if you cannot afford puppy food, the shots might be out of the question. To be completely honest, I believe it might be the right thing to do to find your pup another home. If you are not able to get it the medical care it needs and supply your pup with the puppy food I am afraid you can't take proper care of your pup. I know this is not your choice, just your situation.

I have to agree that the puppy deserves a home that can afford proper care. Unfortunately we are short millions of them. Likely the cheapest and best diet for your puppy would be whatever dog chow you can find cheap, perhaps Shep from Aldi's. There is no way you can be sure of it getting a complete and balanced diet playing around with chicken and rice. It is likely to be more expensive too.
The worst thing thing feeding an adult chow will do is slow growth. A common technique used by the most knowledgible for large breed puppies.
