How can fix hot water stem?
As I was replacing a broken plastic hot water stem, everything suddenly pop out, and hot started shooting out. The only part I was replacing was the stem part that turns the water off and on, not the part that pop out. After getting the water off and examining the part, It looked to be fine but it doesn't screw back on. So I pushed it back in place and tried again, and it happened again. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone please help me? I can't afford a plumbing. I am willing to try whatever I need to. Thank You Very Much I'm so sorry that I didn't say that it is the bathtub hot water facuet stem.

That must have been quite an experience lisamichelle... ;) Hopefully nobody got burned!

I am going to assume that this is a sink faucet... yes? Seems you may have disturbed the nut that holds the stem assembly in place... not sure, of course.

If not sink faucet, see if can find a name on the valve and let me know what valve... ok?

Look at pic. Below... compare to sink faucet.. let me know what you think... Mark.
