    Well it all may depend on your county, but in bexar county, san antonio, tx you have to pay the marriage license fee and on top of that pay the money hungry judge $50.

    You made a derogatory comment about an answer I posted to a similar question when the answer was very factual.

    What is required for a wedding varies with the locality, so no one can give a detailed answer without knowing the location. Same goes for costs. There is a license fee, and the JP or clerk who performs the ceremony also gets a fee. Its customery to tip the witnesses, if they are not your friends. There are also some semi-standard costs no matter where you get married. You need wedding rings, its customary to get a bouquet for the bride, etc.
