Why not just take out the horrible, gross nose thing. Then you won't have to worry about it anymore. It baffles me how people think that piercings are attractive to any degree. It is pure torture for me to look at it.

Not an answer to the question asked. You have a right to your opinion, but your opinion on nose rings wasn't requested by the OP.

OP, is the area around the piercing red and swollen, sore to the touch? If so then it is probably infected. I've never had a nose piercing but I do have my ears done, do they give you an antiseptic to rub on the nose piercing daily? I would go to the doctor just to make sure that it's okay, infection is infection and you don't want to leave it.

Signs of infected piercings are severe redness, severe swelling, and/or a yellow or green discharge that smells bad. An advanced infection can also include fever and/or chills.

If you think you have an infection, see a doctor. The only thing that will fully cure an infected piericng is antibiotics.

The OP did not ask "who thinks piercings are gross", she asked what the signs of infection were. Since this is a medical related question, if you don't feel you have any medical advice to add, its best not to answer to avoid confusion.

This is not medical advice - if it is infected it will remain infected, piercing removed or not. Antibiotic cream is a good idea. Because it's your face (obviously!) I would also suggested that you check with a Doctor if it's red or swollen or there's a discharge.

Did you have this professionally done (I hope!) and not done by a friend so you know the equipment was sterile?
