    Water pressure
The water pressure in one bathroom shower is very low. We have had this problem before and a plumber came out and fixed it within minutes. Instead of paying for a visit I figure I could try by myself... Is it the knobs or spout?

    Hey Taradactul:

It may be that the shower head itself is clogged with sediment. First, try to remove the shower head (one pair pliers on shower head, one pair pliers holding against yourself on shower arm... Loosen clockwise). There is a screen or volume reducing screen/washer in place... clean this (could even remove the volume reducer using screw or similar)... then run shower for 30 seconds with NO shower head on to clear line of sediment... then re-install shower head (4-6 wraps of teflon tape clockwise on shower arm)... no need to over tighten here, just so when use shower no leaks from shower head.

Then try the shower... that better.. If so, great! If not, will need to plan on getting into the shower valve body (shut water, remove handle and face plate) and remove cartridge/springs & seats, purge valve (pulse water on/off) to clear of sediment, then re-install all.

First, try the shower head... then get back to us. If shower head NOT THE ISSUE, get us the name on the shower valve... may be able to get you a specification sheet on your valve... will make clearing valve of sediment easier if can see parts before/after removing parts.

    Let us know... Mark
