Inability to sleep(insomnia) is one of the most serious medical conditions... you have to go to a sleep specialist physicians to have a consultation.

I agree with Choux go see a doctor insomnia sucks and it can lead to or be caused by other conditions. There are many things that they can give you the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is lunesta because that commercial is everywhere. They'll probably send you too a sleep clinic too to see if its something 'during' your sleep causing the problem.
Sorry I can't be of more help, I'd suggest other medications but most that result in sleep are meant for people who are sick with a cold and that... and they're kind of habit forming.

    Good luck!

I'm wondering if there's anything else you can do other than just take medication. There's other things which can affect your ability to sleep at night. Such as stress and lifestyle. If you're currently under any stress or have a poorly balanced lifestyle those things can definitely affect you. Also it can depend on your overall diet and what you eat and what time you eat it at nighttime. So maybe if you haven't given it a try or haven't consulted a specialist about it, it might help you a lot if you do try to reduce stress and try a better diet and things like those before jumping into taking medication.

    Hi Mutal,

You know this really isn't the best place to ask about medication. I suggest you seek professional medical advice.

If you are interested in alternative methods however there's a lot of free information on this blog at How to Beat Insomnia - Sleep disorders - Chronic insomnia
