    Reentering US with OPT from working abroad while OPT is pending
    Hi all,

    My OPT is currently pending, my company gave me an option to work abroad until the OPT is approved.

    If I do work abroad while my OPT is pending, can I be guaranteed re-entry to US when my OPT is approved?

    If your OPT has been approved and you depart before you get a job, your OPT ends and you cannot reenter unless you have a written job offer.

    If you have a job, you may travel and reenter to resume work at the same job or you have a written offer for another job.

    If your request for OPT is pending, you may reenter to search for employment.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Yes, I do have a job offer already but unable to start since OPT is pending.

    I want to confirm if I can still reenter the US to work at the same job (after OPT is approved), while working abroad (when OPT is pending).
