    Over-garnishment refund?
    My hubby had wages garnished for a student loan default.the creditors garnished in excess of the debt owed... then the IRS took the amount owed from his refund, and they took from a refund years ago... how much can this 3500 possibly add up to be with fees and all?

    The interest and penalty can become an appreciable amount. You can ask the creditor or IRS for the statement of your account.
