    Child support
my husband and i are considering a divorce. we just had a child 4 months ago and he is upset at the thought of having to pay me child support. he told me that all he would have to do is drop all of his parental rights and then he would not be required to pay any child support. can he really do this? is this true? maybe you could give me a link so i could do more [F]research on it. thank you.

Too bad you did not see this in this jerk 14 months ago. He is too cheap to support a child that HE helped bring into this world? That has to be about the most selfish thing I have heard in a long time. Get yourself a good lawyer and take him for all he is worth and then some.

Just laugh at him and tell him the county jail is full of dead beat dads who don't want to pay and you can find him a good room mate named bubba.

Unless you and a judge agrees he can not give up his right, and the judge will order him to pay child support if you get physcial custody. So it is time to stop listening to him and hiring an attorney.

If you take him to court and get custody, he will be forced to pay child support and if you stop listening to him ( he will try, the I wlll take care of the child without court latter most liekly) So get the child support order and do what you have to do

He has to pay child support whether he likes it or not. If you are getting divorced your attorney will ask for the child support and that will be included in the divorce paperwork.
