Steering assy on Craftsman Garden Tractor
I have a Sears Garden Tractor Model # 917270821 with a broken steering assembly. The shaft appears broken right where it inserts into the shaft support. My problem is that I can't get the shaft out of the shaft support piece. How is this done?
    Thanks

You have to remove the steering sector (half moon shaped gear) on some models, and some you have to remove a nut and or lock pin from the bottom side of the steering sector.

I just picked up a used Craftsman riding mower. The steering is very loose. It appears to be between the Sector Gear and the Steering wheel. Any suggestions? Is this common?
