My husband was arrested for driving on suspended driver's license (which we were unaware of) which was later converted to a traffic ticket. But in police station, it is in their records, that he was arrested.
Now that we have to get FBI check for canadian immigration, would it show up in FBI fingerprint check? Can it cause a risk? Or just providing an explanation of what happened would be fine?

I assume that you had a lawyer converting the arrest to a traffic ticket, if so.. then you should contact him.
I am not certain about background check required by Canadian immigration authority but in US, even a minor mistake in FBI records could bring you a big problem.

A traffic ticket will show up on his drivers record. Depending on the state, a traffic ticket is a court summons, and it means basically you are ordered to appear in court. An "arrest" is merely taking someone into custody that has to either post bond or be processed due to the charge.

For example a person who is driving without a license, is often taken and booked and then given a ticket to appear. This is common in some US states.
But next you are confusing fingerprinting and criminal background check, they are not the same thing
The fingerprinting is merely ID, they first check to see if you are who they say you are ( have you been fingerprinted under another name) and second they add your fingerprints to file to have them to compare if you are ever fingerprinted again. The fingerprint has no criminal record attached to it, just proof of ID.

The criminal record comes from the conviction record, the court reports all convictions and they are added to the criminal history of a person.

So the fingerprinting is to prove he is who he says he is, and/or to be sure he has a set on file if there is not already a set.
Then there will be a criminal history ran, Drivers records do not normally show up with criminal history, unless they also run a DMV report also.
