    Probation Officer
My boyfriend is in jail for a 120 Treatment for Drug and Alcohol. I was wondering if when he gets out can he move his probation to another county? We have been planning to get a place together, but we don't know if he is allowed to change Probation Officers. His current probation officer keeps telling him no he cannot transfer to another county. I feel as if she doesn't like him and wants to keep him there so she can give him hell.
So can he or can he not move to a differnet county?
    Sincerily,
    A concern girlfriend from Missouri!

Sometimes they don't like to transfer someone's probation to a different county. You can still formally ask and see what happens.

Probation Officers are there to make your life hell... very true... they don't care if you are trying your hardest to start over and live well, it's their goal to get all of them back in jail.. Your boyfriends PO will make everything diffucult for you... so stay strong...

Doesn't hurt to ask.. usually if he can prove that he already has a job and has a good reason for leaving then MAYBE.. but it's not positive.. I HATE PO'S!!

You can make a request to transfer your probation, in the end it will be up to the court

    Hello k:

I was always assigns a probation officer depending on where I lived in the state. I didn't have to live in the country THEY decided I should.

Transfers within the state are not the same thing as transfers out of state. So, I don't believe a po can stop an in state move.
