Need Verizon Wireless to Sync with Gmail
I'm looking to buy a new phone from Verizon Wireless. I want to be able to sync my phone with my Gmail email, contacts and calendar.

I just can't seem to find helpful information on syncing Gmail with Verizon, if it's even possible or worth it.

I want to be able to have a calendar and contacts so I don't need to carry my Palm anymore. I don't have any need for a Treo or Blackberry. I use my cell phone as a phone, I would just like to be able to have contacts and a calendar. I don't really care about getting email, listening to music, surfing the web or all that other stuff.

I also don't want to sync my phone with my work computer (especially since I'm hoping to change jobs soon) and my home computer is a Mac. I'm very happy with Verizon Wireless, so I would rather not have to switch carriers.

    Is this a hopeless quest?

This is definitely an interesting issue - and I'm not sure why Verizon or other vendors don't provide these instructions. Please post your answers here when you find them.
