    How to solve logarithms?
    Can someone explain to be the concepts and procedure to solving something like the following question?
    (I) log4 2 ! Log9 (2x ! 5) # log8 64

    Ugh that didn't come out right. Anyway, all numbers directly after the small boxes are the bases of the logs. And:
    ! --> +
    # --> =

    No idea... but if you go to this website: Logarithm it will help you do it.
    It's been so long since I've done any, but this way you can ask your teacher later but still get your homework questions right.

    You probably faired well from the link, but here is a way to go about it. Hope it helps, so you can apply it on similar problems.



    We apply the change of base formula.

    Rewrite as:



    Note that 4 and 64 are prefect squares:

got stuck on this one... use the properties of logarithms to rewrite the expression in terms of log(base 10)of 3 and log(base 10) of 4. Then use log(base10) of 3 = 0.477 and log (base 10) of 4 =0.602 to approximate the expression. then these are the two I have to solve. a. log (base 10) of 16...
