    Foreclosure balance
    If my house forecloses will I be responsible for the remaining balance after I lose my house?

    Short answer, yes.

    If your home sold for $100,000 and your mortgage balance is $150,000, then you would still be responsible for the $50,000 difference as well as any other legal fees and costs.
